Cancer, Doctor Appointment, Exercise, Weight loss

A lot has gone on since my last update. I’ll try to limit my discussion to one or two items as so not to bore you.

My last Oyncologist report was good but on one of the tests shows that my Creatine levels were high so off to the nephrologist I go. Wwe illinated some meds and reduced my lacix but that didn’t help. I was told to lay off my lacix altogether but when I did that I gained nearly ten pounds in a week. Cause? Fluid. Fluid has been my advasary for quite some time. I go to the gym twice a week, I diet all week long, I drink at least 64 oz of water a day but my weight remains about the same each day. As long as I’m on the lacix I’m okay but when I go off it I gain weight. But, on the other hand, while I’m on the lacix I don’t lose weight no matter how hard i try. This has been going on for a couple of months now.

I had a conversation with my cardiologist the other day and he said that he didn’t want me to get my heart rate much above 130 and I’ve been trying to abide by that. It really doesn’t take much to get my heart rate up and when it does it stays around 125 to 135 and that’s when I’m on the treadmill or spin cycle. I usually try to stay on those machines for at least thirty minutes each. When I’m working out with my trainer he has my heart rate up to nearly 120 at times.

Stay tuned and I’ll tell you about my recent eye surgery.

Can't Breathe, Depression, Doctor Appointment, Fluid Build Up, health, Lungs

I’m literally sitting here fighting for each breath I take.  I’ve been on the phone with three different doctors the last two weeks trying to get one of them to make a decision.  We’re all in agreement that we assume that my CML meds are causing fluid to accumulate around my lungs.  The problem I’m facing is finding a doctor willing to take responsibility and assisting me to drain the fluid.  I first contacted my oncologist thinking he would take me off my drug for a few weeks, he suggested contacting my pulmonary doctor.  My pulmonary doctor suggested for me to see my cardiologist.  I contacted my cardiologist and he suggested that I spend the weekend in the hospital.  I refused that option because my daughters were coming in for the weekend and that’s the last place I wanted to be.  So, I go see m cardiologist tomorrow at 3pm.  What the hell he’s going to do is beyond me.  The problem is not my heart it’s the fluid in my lungs.  I’m so put out right now I can’t think straight.

This year has got to be the worst year so far as far as my health is concerned.  I’ve already been hospitalized twice this year and another visit is just around the corner.  This month alone I’ve been to a doctor five times for tests and other examinations.

Since my bout with pneumonia back in May, my breathing has gotten worse.  So much so that I can’t walk any distance or do any type of work without gasping for a breath.  Even sitting here typing this my breathing is labored.  I had a nuclear stress test last week as well as an ultrasound of my heart and both tests have come back without any abnormalities.  My regular doctor is supposed to be setting up an appointment with a cardiologist hopefully one day next week for a follow up.

I long for the day I’m able to walk down the hallways at work or hop on my bicycle for a twenty mile ride without feeling like crap.

I had great news from my doctor appointment today.  My blood levels all were in the good range, including my cholesterol.  My A1C was still a little high but at 6.6 it’s a lot better than what it has been in the past.  The first thing the doctor asked me was if I had been riding my bicycle because he knew right off that I must have been doing something to get my levels down.  Now if I can just get my weight down and keep it down I think I would feel better about myself.

I had a doctors appointment today that supposed to have lasted only about two hours.  In fact, that’s what I told my boss.  When I got to the doctor’s office they decided to run more tests than originally planned.  I had to leave the doctor’s office and head to the hospital where I spent five hours waiting, taking more tests and waiting some more.  I really hate having to burn a day at the doctor’s office.

The above picture is part of a Sportsman Chicken Fryer.  The top, pictured here, is a griddle on one side and a grill on the inside.  I placed this piece in my electrolysis tank earlier this evening. I will leave it in the tank for a couple of days to remove all the rust.  Of course, as soon as I take it out I will have to begin the re seasoning process or else it will immediately start rusting again.  I’ll probably check on it Friday evening but I won’t have time to start the re seasoning process until either Saturday afternoon or Sunday morning.
