Or should it read Welcome Spring!!  I can’t believe Spring has finally arrived.  It’s been long awaited.  Although, Winter may show her ugly head again before Summer officially arrives I will enjoy it while it lasts.

I went out and bought a new bicycle helmet today.  My old helmet was a Wal-Mart special.  I think I paid $10 for it.  I don’t think I would’ve gotten much protection if I had been in a bad accident but at least I had one.  I’ve read a lot of reviews on the Kali helmets and it comes highly recommended.  For $90 bucks t it had better offer some protection.  My first big ride will be tomorrow morning.  I’m planning on getting up and riding at least 20 miles in the morning then I’m going to a campout that the scouts are having.  Should be a fun filled day tomorrow.

I just got home from a high school gathering.  It was a reunion of sorts but it wasn’t an official class reunion, if that makes sense.  There was only twelve of us that met but we had a great time.  It seems hard to believe that it was just a few years ago we were all sitting in a classroom together.  Sitting there talking to some of my classmates it was difficult for me to realize that most of these people had grand kids already.  Me, my oldest is 21 and not even thinking of getting serious with anyone.  I’m glad for that because he really needs to get out of college first before thinking about girls.  But am I really that old to have friends the same age with grand kids?  I’m really glad I went and I did have a good time.

My goal is to do 20 miles every time I go out.  But right now it’s not realistic.  It gets too dark for me to safely ride before I can get the milage in.  I have a bright headlight and I have a red blinking light on the rear but I’m still concerned that someone will get too close to me.  Tomorrow it’s supposed to be raining so I guess I’ll have a night off.  In fact, it’s supposed to rain all the way into the weekend.  I guess if it’s raining I’ll get on the treadmill for a little while.

It’s not what I wanted to do but it got dark on me.  It felt good being out there on my bike and feeling the cool breeze.  If I’ve learned anything the last two days is that I am out of shape.  I’ve signed up for a 46 mile bike ride in less than a month and I’ll tell you, I’m not ready.

Tomorrow the rain returns and it’s supposed to rain until Saturday morning.  Should be nice on Sunday.  My plan is to ride 20 miles this weekend.  We shall see.

I went to my eye doctor this afternoon and I got a good report.  I don’t have to go back to see him for six months.  The best news is that I’m done having injections in my eyes.  Those were tough to deal with.

Well, you have to start somewhere.  Today was the first day that I have been able to get out and ride.  Sunday was real nice but I was stuck in a meeting all day.  I had a scout meeting to go to so I took advantage of this beautiful weather and I rode my bicycle to the meeting.  It’s not far and I only got a fraction over five miles but I have to take what I can get these days.

My internet is still down and I’m still having to go through my hotspot on my IPhone so I’ll leave my comments short.

I hope everyone had a great weekend.  I stayed too busy to really enjoy it but I did get to spend the time doing what I enjoyed doing.  Back to the grindstone tomorrow.

Have a great week everyone!!!

Going to be a busy weekend.  Looks like the rain is about gone.  I’m glad that the weatherman was wrong.  The only bad thing is that Monday is just around the corner.  lol

Tomorrow’s Friday and there’s 100% chance of rain.  It rained nearly all day today where I was at and there’s 50% chance for Saturday morning.  Next week starts off nice and mild.  I’m ready for some nice weather.

I hope everyone has a wonderful Friday!!

It’s been raining nearly non stop for two days here up until just about an hour ago. More rain in the forecast for the next two days.  I feel like I need to grow web feet or something. Anyway, we’re supposed to dry out for a few days starting Saturday afternoon then rain again toward the middle of next week.  Again, at least the temp is warmer and there’s no risk of snow.

I’ve lost ten pounds as of this morning.  Of course I’ve had no appetite for the last few days because of this sickness. Before I got sick I had been able to get on the treadmill for a couple of days.  Once my breathing gets better I”ll be back on it again.

Queen Bee is at it again.  Sophie’s taken her place on her side of the bed and no one had better get in her way.  This is where she waits for me to get ready for bed.  Once I enter the room she will run into the bathroom and wait in the sink for me to turn the water on for her to get a drink.  Why not, she has nothing else to do.

005

It’s been a rainy, dreary day here in the deep south.  Expecting rain the rest of the week.  We may have a decent weekend but that could change.  Oh well, can’t have everything.  At least it’s not freezing rain or snowing.

First day back to work since the time change.  I made it ok with no problems.  I’m actually looking forward to getting the rest of the week behind me and get to the weekend.  I’ve got an opportunity to teach at a college on Saturday afternoon and I’ve got a meeting to attend to on Sunday.  Not much of down time but at least I’ll get out of the house for a while both days.

Pictured above is queen bee, Sophie.  She thinks the runs this house.  She’s spoiled rotten and I must admit I’ve made her that way.  She follows me to the bathroom every morning just so that I can turn the water on in the sink so she can get a drink of water.  She does this too in the evenings as I’m getting ready for bed.  She doesn’t do this to anyone else but me.  She’s my sweet little girl.
