365 Day Photo Challenge, Alabama, Botanical Gardens, CT Scan, Kidney Stones, Morphine, Pain, Pills, Rose

Kidney Stones are a pain in the a$$.  I had just left the house this morning when I started feeling the pain.  Within about thirty minutes I was hurting real bad.  I did my morning rounds and left for the doc in the box.  They ran some tests, hooked up an IV and gave me a shot of morphine.  They then sent me to the hospital for a CT scan where the found some kidney stones.  I made it fine with the morphine shot until about 5pm and then the pain hit again.  The doctor did give me a scrip for some pain pills but it’s nothing like the morphine.  I’m hoping to pass the stones soon so I can rest.

365 Day Photo Challenge, Blisters, Face, Lib, Pain, Swelling

I’m not sure what’s going on or if it has anything to do with some trimming I did yesterday or not but early this morning I was awaken by the pain in my bottom lip as if I had bitten down on it.  I got up and looked in the mirror only to find my lip had several blisters.  I took some pain meds and tried to get some sleep but the pain was relentless.  I managed to finally get to sleep around 3am and awoke around nine something.  After breakfast my wife noticed some more blisters on the inside of my right arm.  Funny how I didn’t even notice them.  I guess because they’re not hurting as bad.  About an hour ago my wife noticed that not only had my bottom lip has gotten bigger but she also noticed that my left side of my face has swollen.  I guess a trip to the doctor will be in order tomorrow after work.  Hopefully I can make it that long and not have to leave early.

When I was a kid we celebrated my grandmother’s birthday at a restaurant.  I’ll never forget one of her birthday cards that she read aloud to all who were in attendance. It described her five new boyfriends.  “As soon as I get up, WILL POWER helps me get out of bed.  Then I go see JOHN (The Toilet).  Then CHARLIE HORSE comes along, and when he’s here, he takes a lot of time and attention.  When he leaves ARTHUR RITIS shows up and stays the rest of the day.  He doesn’t like to stay in one place for very long, so he takes me from joint to joint. After such a busy day I’m really tired and glad  to go to bed with BEN GAY.  What a life!!.  Oh yes, I’m also flirting with AL ZYMER and thinking of calling JACK DANIELS or JOHNNY WALKER to come and keep me company. Now remember this;  Life is like a roll of toilet paper, the closer it gets to the end the faster it goes…”

It seem that at least once a week a new ailment finds it’s way to the service.  Last week I noticed that my shoulder has a pain when I move it a certain way.  For the past month I’ve noticed that my right foot has been giving me trouble when I ride my bike.  Maybe their related to me riding more often and then again maybe not.

Biopsy, CML, Doctor, Leukemia, Pain

I had my bone marrow biopsy today.  It was one of the most painful experiences I’ve had and not be doing something I enjoyed.  If you’ve never had one let me tell you what they did.  First they made me undress and put on a backless hospital gown.  The did give me a pair of disposable terrycloth shorts to put on underneath.  I lay there for a while until the doctors come in and he tells me to lay on my left side in a fetal position.  The doctor then injects the area on my hip with a local antithetic which hurt like hell.  Then the real pain begins when he begins to drill into my hip with some sort of needle.  That hurt worse than hell.  The whole procedure didn’t last thirty minutes but it felt like an eternity while he was doing it.  I call the doctor next Monday to make yet another Dr. appointment to find out the results.

Trying to keep my spirits up.
