I got home and hurriedly changed into my riding gear.  My wife got home late and didn’t have supper ready but it was close.  After I changed clothes I shoved down a pork chop and off I went on my bike ride.  Before I left I checked the radar and noticed that a storm was approaching but was fading fast.   About an hour into the ride I started noticing that another storm was approaching but this time from different direction.  I stopped to check the radar on my phone and I could hear thunder off in the distance.  Being that the tornado of 2011 took out most of the trees in this area I was the tallest thing around.  This did not leave a comforting thought.  I cut the ride short and headed home.  After my shower and a change of clothes the storm hit with a mighty force.  Power has been going on and off and my poor grumpy cat hasn’t left my side.  He doesn’t like storms and usually cowards behind the bed but for some reason he’s being my best bud.  That along with the storm shall soon pass.

365 Day Photo Challenge, Cats, Florida, Photography, Seagrove Beach, Shopping, Sunset, Travel

I got out of bed and looked out the window to see a peaceful ocean this morning.  The past few mornings the waves had been breaking as far out as far as the eye could see but today not so.

Kids wanted to do some shopping so instead of wasting valuable beach time I told them we could go on our way home today.  For two hours I sat on an outside bench while my wife and kids went shopping at the outlet mall.  I didn’t mind one bit. I sat there a did what I like the most which is people watch.  Believe me, there were a lot of people to watch.

We arrived home to find two very angry cats.  They didn’t appreciate us leaving them to fend for themselves.  We always leave plenty of food and water for them while we’re gone.  We also allow my sister in law to come and check on them at least once a day but they always manage to get mad and leave “gifts.”  The female quickly got over it but the male still hasn’t come to terms with us being home just yet.  Come morning he’ll be ok.

There’s been a lot in the news about the massacre in South Carolina.  My deepest,  heartfelt  condolences go out to all the friends and families of those that lost loved ones during this horrible tragedy.

If you’ve been following long you should know by now that I don’t normally talk about politics, religion, and anything that is controversial. I wanted this to be a family friendly blog that you wouldn’t mind if your eight or ten year old happened upon you while you were reading my blog.  Anyway, I must say, and your opinions may differ from mine and that’s okay, that I believe that we do not need any more gun control.  In fact, we don’t need any more control from the government than we already have.  My opinion is not to have more gun laws but to get this nation back to where it used to be.  We have become a country that is so afraid of offending others that we have forgotten our own roots.  Our country must get back to God and not try to be so politically correct any more.

That’s my opinion and as they say, I’m sticking to it.  You may or may not agree with me and that’s fine.

It’s been raining nearly non stop for two days here up until just about an hour ago. More rain in the forecast for the next two days.  I feel like I need to grow web feet or something. Anyway, we’re supposed to dry out for a few days starting Saturday afternoon then rain again toward the middle of next week.  Again, at least the temp is warmer and there’s no risk of snow.

I’ve lost ten pounds as of this morning.  Of course I’ve had no appetite for the last few days because of this sickness. Before I got sick I had been able to get on the treadmill for a couple of days.  Once my breathing gets better I”ll be back on it again.

Queen Bee is at it again.  Sophie’s taken her place on her side of the bed and no one had better get in her way.  This is where she waits for me to get ready for bed.  Once I enter the room she will run into the bathroom and wait in the sink for me to turn the water on for her to get a drink.  Why not, she has nothing else to do.

005

It’s been a rainy, dreary day here in the deep south.  Expecting rain the rest of the week.  We may have a decent weekend but that could change.  Oh well, can’t have everything.  At least it’s not freezing rain or snowing.

First day back to work since the time change.  I made it ok with no problems.  I’m actually looking forward to getting the rest of the week behind me and get to the weekend.  I’ve got an opportunity to teach at a college on Saturday afternoon and I’ve got a meeting to attend to on Sunday.  Not much of down time but at least I’ll get out of the house for a while both days.

Pictured above is queen bee, Sophie.  She thinks the runs this house.  She’s spoiled rotten and I must admit I’ve made her that way.  She follows me to the bathroom every morning just so that I can turn the water on in the sink so she can get a drink of water.  She does this too in the evenings as I’m getting ready for bed.  She doesn’t do this to anyone else but me.  She’s my sweet little girl.

I’m getting board stuck in this house.  I’ve got a brand new camera and I’ll I’ve got to take pictures of are my cats.  Let’s just say my wife and daughter are camera shy.

I’ve got two cat’s.  I spotlighted Clyde the other day and this is Sophie.  She was hiding under a pillow on our bed.  She does this sometimes but I was ready for her when she did this today.

Eighty percent chance of rain tomorrow so it looks like I’ll be stuck in the house again tomorrow.  Doctor appointment on Tuesday and I might get to go back to work on Wednesday.  Not really looking forward to that but at least it’s something to do.

365 Photo Challenge “The Master is Asleep”

Today’s photo is of one of our cats, Clyde.  Clyde is a nine year old male and weighs about fourteen pounds.  He is the master of our household, or at least he thinks he is.  He will not let my wife sleep in.  He will get on top of her and yell until she gets up to feed him.  This usually starts around 6 am in the morning. If she stays in bed too long he will eventually leave a gift of pee somewhere in the house other than his litter box.

Clyde is one of two cats that live with us.  His sister, Bonnie, died a few years back with a heart attack, or so the vet says.  About a year later we acquired another female cat named Sophie, a cat with a completely different demeanor.
