Francois de la Rochefourcauld stated that “The only thing constant in life is change.” This may be the case but I don’t have to like it. My boss has implemented a few changes in our department that has made himself a few enemies. Me for one. I won’t bore everyone with all the details but the point is that he’s messing around with our pay. His excuse is that these changes will “make us better stewards of our time.” Now with these changes we’re spending more time on the computer keying in our time than we are on the jobs. It makes no sense to me nor to anyone else in our department. It’s enough to pull my hair out.
“Life Goes On!”
I’m glad I work for a very small firm – we don’t get micro-managers. Chances are your boss will revert back to the original procedure in a few weeks or months when he realizes his new way just isn’t working.
I wished I could agree with you. Unfortunately this has been going on for about a year. It’s just getting worse day by day. Just heard today that one of my coworkers has applied elsewhere and maybe leaving because he can’t deal with all the changes. I would leave as well but I’ve got 30 years in and can’t afford to loose my retirement.
I hear you. I tried really hard to retire a couple of months ago, but just couldn’t do it financially. Fortunately, I have a good employer who was willing to work with me to ease the workload.
