Last night I was going to surprise my family with some fried apple pies.  I had seen it done several times and plus I needed the practice because our Boy Scout troop wants to do something like this for a fundraiser.  You’re supposed to be able to take biscuit dough, roll it out, put your favorite pie filling in the center, fold it over and put it in hot grease and fry it.  I did all of the above but somehow, either the oil was too hot, no thermometer, or the dough was too thick, but the center was not cooked.

It’s all good though.  It’s a learning experience and I’ll try again in a few days.
